The Science Behind Tear-Resistant Decoupage Décor Tissue Paper

This tissue paper is unlike the kind you would use when stuffing a gift box. In contrast, this decorative specialty paper is thicker and fabric like. The sheets are made from a combination of wood pulp and other natural fibers, such as cotton or linen along with synthetic materials that provide high quality and durability. This decoupage tissue paper is designed to be highly absorbent, making it easier to adhere to surfaces using decoupage glue or other adhesives. We recommend using Decoupage Gel from ReDesign with Prima to give you an exceptional finished look.  It comes in Shine and Matte finishes.

With Tear-Resistant Decoupage Décor Tissue Paper, you'll discover a new way to decorate your furniture and transform your space. The paper comes in many patterns, and designs, making it great for a wide range of decorative and artistic applications. It's also fade-resistant, ensuring that your creations will remain beautiful and vibrant for years to come.

Maximizing Your Result: Tips for Using Decoupage Tissue Paper

When using this product, an important feature to think about is placement and durability. Bright surface colors like white will help the image pop on your piece, while darker colors will mute them. The paper's fabric-like texture provides a unique and beautiful non fading finish that can't be beat.

To get started, simply paint your surface with your chosen color, then size your pattern by positioning the paper before gluing. Trim your sheet as needed and place the tissue paper in position. Apply a generous amount of adhesive, then let the tissue paper suction to the surface. It's easy to work out any wrinkles or bubbles, and the result is a high-quality finish that you'll be proud to display.

Here are 5 steps to apply Tear Resistant Decoupage Tissue Paper:

1) Prepare your supplies:
     a) Get a paintbrush or sponge
     b) Have a pair of scissors ready
     c) Choose your preferred adhesive, such as varnish or mod podge, ensuring that the glue will become clear once dry.  We Recommend Decoupage Gel by Redesign with prima. It comes in Shine and Matte finishes.

2) Consider the background of your project:
     a) Choose a paint color for the surface, taking into account that light colors will make the image stand out, while dark colors will darken the image.

3) Measure the pattern:
     a) Position the paper before using adhesive. Check the size and placement of the image. The edges don't need to be perfect as they can be smoothed out later.
   b) Cut the sheet to size and overlap pieces if you prefer. Sand down edges and rough areas and save any extra pieces for future projects.

4) When the design is positioned, administer ample amounts of mod podge, adhesive glue, or varnish directly onto the surface. As the paper is permeable, it will  quickly adhere to the surface.

5) Place the Paper in position. The advantage of this paper is that it can be easily relocated, and any wrinkles can be ironed out without ripping the paper.
   a) You do not have to wait until the piece is fully dry before applying the top layer of glue or varnish because it is resistant to tearing.
   b) Allow the piece to dry for 3 to 4 hours before smoothing the edges or adding any additional layers or effects.
